About Us
Once again Star Car's enjoyed another very
productive and successful season, winning many features and heat events
across the East Coast. Not only do I assist Star car owners, but a lot
of other owner's w/ their setups and encouragement. They also deserve
many thanks, and kudos on a productive year.
Now is the time to start thinking about
rebuilding, or renewing your arsenal for the upcoming 2011 season. Feel
free to contact us for any and all of your needs.
IT ALL BEGAN WITH THE BIRTH OF A SON!
A
welding and fabricating background helped initiate my first 2 cars. Wow,
Look how far we've come . . . . . .
One year after that, the owner of the second car suggested I start
selling parts when racing. I must give him credit for the idea. As the
years progressed, we came together with another car owner, Steve Borger
who had the idea of going to a rear "W" link and a "Z" link suspension.
It was at this point the the current day STAR CAR chassis started to
evolve.
In 2000 My son Coty,
decided not to race anymore. His decision was devastating, but at the same
time a blessing in disguise. It allowed us to focus more on customer cars,
the needs of their owners, both at the shop and the tracks. As the
business evolved and expanded, we sort of came into a "Team" type
atmosphere, where we worked off each others strong suits, sharing setups
etc.
In 2003 a group of STAR CAR owners decided to venture out into the QMA
Dirt race tracks where almost instant success was had by all. Towards the
end of the year a few decided to venture into the asphalt tracks. What a
Major Step.
By the end of 2004 our
1st asphalt win came at Wall Stadium in New Jersey. Steve Hughes
accomplished the feat with another STAR CAR driver, David Polenz finishing
second in the same race! Wow, what an accomplishment . Thanks Guys.
I must also extend
major kudos in the direction of Donn Edgar, as his asphalt knowledge and
background has helped us make major strides in our asphalt track program.
Many
thanks to all the owners and drivers who already believe in our agenda,
and we welcome all newcomers to join us in 2011 and years beyond.
Sincerely, Ed Pensyl
